Last week, European figureheads met in Munich for the Baltic-German Digital Summit. In the context of this summit, birkle IT had the honor to co-host the press conference “Next Level Society” with AHK Baltics. Together with the Lithuanian Minister of Economy & Innovation and the Latvian Minister of Economy, the future and potential of digital innovation across Europe were deliberated.

Innovation hub in the Baltics

When we talk about digitalization and innovation, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania are among the leading countries in the EU. The Baltic States are the pioneering ground for digital developments that are likely to shape our world in the future.

During the press event, prominent speakers discussed how to ensure knowledge transfer and enhance cooperation between the DACH and the Baltic regions.

Next level society

One highlight of the event was the keynote speech “Computing for a Better World” by Prof. Dr. Anna Frebel, Associate Professor at the Department of Physics at M.I.T.. The distinguished researcher shared her view on the societal impact of computational analysis and pointed out her engagement for a more inclusive digitalization.

With birkle IT’s CEO, Prof. Frebel found a partner that shares her values and visions. Therefore, a new cooperation between birkle IT and Prof. Dr. Frebel, was announced. She will join the new advisory board as a strategic and scientific counsel, representing the M.I.T.’s expertise.

Baltic-German cooperation enables transfer of knowledge and innovation across regions

To meet the needs of DACH customers, we need people who think innovatively and see future technology as today’s standard. To ensure this, birkle IT intends to establish an even firmer presence in the Baltics. The plan is to increase the headcount to 200 experts over the next few years. birkle IT will expand and refine the Bestshoring approach, with a focus on hybrid teams.

Having around 30% of clients in the Baltic States gives the company a unique vantage point to work with a flexible and highly qualitative approach from the early stages of the projects.

Announcement of new e-health start-up

At the press conference, birkle IT unveiled the pioneering new e-health start-up “Vision Surgery AI” that aims to improve the quality of surgical operations and increase patient safety by monitoring the surgeries with AI. More details on the new start-up will follow soon.
