In the last years, we were able to build great expertise in the area of robotics. Robotics and artificial intelligence are substantial technologies. The interaction between human and machine is simplified, in summary, the business of the future is made more productive and competitive.

With aid of our research in the area of robotics, we were able to finalize our first prototype – the walking robot “Helmut” – last year. He was built together with students in the high-tech workshop MakerSpace in Garching.

By means of reinforcement learning, our robot learned to walk to certain coordinates. The possible use cases of walking robots are diverse – from tasks in difficult to access terrains up to support of clinic personal in modern hospitals, everything is imaginable.

With methods of rapid prototyping we want to produce rapidly manufacturable robots, that use ready-made components and thereby are quickly adaptable to a use case. The specific adaption of robot controls to the use case takes place through deep reinforcement learning, applied in a simulation environment.

According to Martin von Hummel, CEO of the ATOS-clinic group, “the innovative robotics project is one of our exciting innovations in the course of our demand to quality medicine around the optimally supplied patient in the ATOS-group.”

In the area of object detection and recognition, we are working together with a European airport for a solution to support air traffic controllers.
